| Cows grazing clover or legume dominant pasture risk
developing bloat. A sticky viscous foam forms in the rumen trapping the
gas that is normally belched by the animal. The rumen distends making
the cow uncomfortable, reducing the intake of quality pasture.
The
continuing build up of gas and the inability of the animal to relieve
the situation leads to further distension of the rumen. The pressure
against the diaphragm and lungs causes the animal to have difficulty
breathing. In extreme cases the animal dies unless relief is given.
BloatShield is designed the help stop the formation of the stable
foam. This allows the animal to belch forming gas normally and continue
to graze and utilise the quality pasture.
Feeding Directions
Add BloatShield to the dairy meal two days prior to cows grazing
legume dominant pasture. Prevention level: 30 grams/cow/day, Bloating
situation: 60 grams/cow/day. Bloatshield is available in 20 kg bags.
