Rabar CloseUp is a pre-calving blend of
anionic salts, vitamins and minerals that helps prevent milk fever and
the metabolic problems associated with calving. CloseUp is available
with and without Rumensin. CloseUp contains high levels of Vitamin E to assist immunoresponse. The anionic salts lower blood pH which, through a series of internal processes, leads to mobilisation of calcium and phosphorus. The resulting higher blood calcium concentrations stimulate muscle contractions which helps prevent post calving metabolic disorders such as milk fever. Feeding Directions Optimum feeding rate is 200 grams/cow/day. It is recommended to introduce CloseUp at half rate initially so they can become accustomed to the taste. At least 10 days feeding is required, but typically 14 - 21 days prior to calving is recommended for success, especially given the typical variation between expected and actual calving dates. Add 200 grams/cow to 2.3kg of crushed grain and 500 grams of canola; or Add 200 grams/cow to at least 2 litres of molasses to spray on silage or hay; or Sprinkle or mix 200 grams/cow with silage.
