RABAR STAY DRY HI PHOS
StayDry Hi-Phos
Mineral Supplement for Ruminants
StayDry Hi-Phos was developed by Dr Bob Elliot of Roche Products in 1990, to help alleviate mineral deficiencies in grazing animals, which do not receive any form of mineral supplementation. The product was developed with the purpose of allowing animals to consume sufficient quantities of StayDry to satisfy their nutrient requirements. The added advantage of StayDry is that it repels water and does not deteriorate over long periods of exposure to the sun and rain.

Simply place StayDry in a free draining trough on a lean to enable water to run off. This should be placed close to areas where cattle congregate and if possible place close to their normal water source.

StayDry contains molasses and flavouring agents to ensure enthusiastic acceptance by livestock, but not to the extent that animals gorge themselves simply because of the high palatability.

It has been noted that animals in known phosphorus deficient areas will eat substantial quantities of StayDry when it is first made available to them. However, after this initial "devouring" period, animals will settle back to consuming approximately 100 grams/cow/day, which is basically why the product was developed: "A free access mineral supplement allows animals to regulate the intake of minerals in accordance with their metabolic requirements".

In addition to high levels of phosphorus (13%), calcium (17%), salt (15.5%) and magnesium (4%); the supplement also contains cobalt, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium.

The StayDry supplement provides a simple method of delivering essential minerals to maintain good cow health and improve fertility. StayDry is particularly useful for dairy cattle at all stages of growth - weaners, dairy heifers, lactating and dry dairy cows. Improved conception rates have been observed after a period of feeding StayDry.

The cost of an animal consuming 100 grams/cow/day is approximately 10-12 cents/cow/day. StayDry is available in 25 kg bags.

Also available is StayDry Hi-Mag and StayDry Hi-Phos Heifer Lick.
